Weather in Russia

Russia is the largest country in the world. It stretches over 17 million square kilometers — from the Baltic Sea in the west to the Sea of Japan in the east. Most of the country is located in the temperate zone. The islands of the Arctic Ocean and the northern continental areas are in the Arctic and subarctic zones. A small part of Russia's Black Sea coast is located in the subtropical zone.
