Eastern Men’s Bathhouse

About

Take a guided tour of the old city bathhouse on the former trade square. It was built from shell limestone, a material quarried in the area since ancient times. Hidden inside is an engineering wonder — clay pipes in the walls and under the floors that once supplied hot and cold water to the hammams. In Muslim cities, the hammam was a center of public life, like the mosque or bazaar. It was not only a place for washing, but also for discussing news, holding sports competitions, business meetings, and sealing deals.
