Ethnographic Museum of the Peoples of Transbaikalia

About

This museum showcases the traditional culture and lifestyle of the peoples who have long inhabited Transbaikal. The entire museum area is divided into different thematic zones. In the Evenki complex, you will see shamanic idols and yurts made of reindeer skins. In the Buryat zone, there are yurts and old photographs. In the Old Believer zone, you can explore ancient houses and icons, while in the Cossack zone, you’ll learn about the life of common plowing peasants and Transbaikal Cossacks. There is also the "Old Verkhneudinsk" urban complex with charming little houses and a 19th-20th century church. Additionally, the museum grounds feature a zoo. Take a stroll through the zoo and meet eagles, a fox, a tiger, a bear, a roe deer, a maral, a yak, and other fascinating animals.
