Far Eastern Marine Reserve

About

A vast, picturesque protected area offering stunning views of the Sea of Japan. It is divided into three parts that are open for visits. The Southern District, home to rare bird species, many of which are listed in the Red Book. The Eastern District, where you can spot seals. The Northern District, featuring the "Likander" botanical garden. The reserve is home to hundreds of different species of marine life. The main pride of this place includes crustaceans, echinoderms, and mollusks: Far Eastern sea cucumbers, Gray's mussels, Amur sea stars, gray urchins, ascidians, sea anemones, sponges, octopuses, Primorye scallops, rapanas, hermit crabs, Kamchatka crabs, and Pacific squids.
