About
One of the city’s most famous landmarks. The mosque was built in 2008. It is a grand structure known for its rich decoration. The "Heart of Chechnya" has four minarets, each 63 metres high (symbolising the number of years the Prophet Muhammad lived), and a spacious interior adorned with marble, stucco, and chandeliers decorated with gold, bronze, and Swarovski crystals. Anyone is welcome to visit the mosque, but tourists are advised to come between prayer times so as not to disturb worshippers. It is important to show respect for Islamic traditions in mosques. Shoes must be removed before entering, and clothing should be as modest as possible: women must wear a headscarf, long sleeves, and a skirt, while men should wear trousers and a long-sleeved shirt.
