About
Another estate of a famous writer — Ivan Turgenev.
In 1850, the writer created many of his popular works here, which became classics of Russian literature.
The surviving buildings — the paper mill, the carriage house, and the Church of the Presentation of the Virgin — are surrounded by a park laid out by the writer’s grandfather.
The main museum exhibition is housed in the paper factory building. It showcases a collection of paintings and sculptures on hunting themes, authentic items from the manor house, and editions of Turgenev's works.
