Visit the Semenkovo Architectural and Ethnographic Museum

About

This is an open-air ethnographic village. The 13-hectare grounds hold authentic wooden buildings from the 19th to early 20th centuries, brought from the depths of the Vologda region. The main attraction is the tent-roofed St. George’s Church of 1700, proudly rising above the churchyard. Walking along the streets, you will see peasant huts with carved window frames, barns, bathhouses, and even windmills. The huts recreate the interiors of that time, and in the warm season crafts and traditions “come to life.” You will imagine how ancestors lived, how they ground grain in mills, stored the harvest in barns, and gathered at fairs.
