Perhaps the most charming residents of Lake Baikal are the nerpas (Baikal seals). You can see them at the Ushkani Islands, Cape Khoboy on Olkhon Island, and Zamogoy Island in the Maloye More Strait. It’s very important to remember that nerpas are quite shy, so you must avoid getting too close or speaking loudly near them.
