About
Visit an unusual religious complex.
The term "Tekie Dervishes" translates from Turkic as "the dwelling of wanderers."
Dervishes led modest, moderate lives and believed that communication with God could be achieved in a trance state, which they reached through their whirling dance.
Today, in the Yevpatoria Tekie, costume musical tours are held, where artists reenact the ritual. Nearby, the ethnographic museum displays ritual clothing.
